1.       What is Exchange server?

It is an application from Microsoft to provide E-mail communication.
It is used not only for E-mails, but also used for document sharing, voice and mobile communication.
It works on client/server model.

3.   Flavors of Exchange server 2007

Standard edition :
·         
            Meant for small organization.
·         Supports 5 storage groups.
·         Supports 5 databases.
·         Storage limits 75GB.

Enterprise Edition:

·         Meant for medium and large organizations.
·         Supports 50 storage groups.
·         Supports 50 databases.
·         No storage limits.

5. Software Requirements

Windows server 2003 family: Standard Edition , Enterprise Edition, Data Center server with service pack2.
                                                               (Or)
Windows server 2008 Family: Standard Edition , Enterprise Edition, Data Center server.
Note: On windows server 2008 , Exchange server 2007 with SP1 is required.
