VeeamVssSupport Service not found

Issue: - Backup job failed with below error message.

Error: Cannot register management service. Service name: [VeeamVssSupport]. Cannot create service. Machine: [x.x.x.x]. The specified service has been marked for deletion. Code:1072

Cause: - The VeeamVssSupport service cannot be installed because it was never uninstalled. It was marked for deletion instead of being deleted. It cannot be removed, but will be removed automatically when the guest OS reboots.

Typically this is due to one of the following programs being open at the time the deletion command was received:

- mmc.exe (Services.msc is the most common example, but any MMC console may cause this error)
- Task Manager
- Sysinternals Process Explorer

Solution: -

To resolve, reboot the Guest VM to prompt the OS to remove the service.

Issue:-    VeeamVssSupport service periodically stops

n  VeeamVssSupport is not a service and should not visible in the services.msc.

n  It is non-persistent runtime "agent" that is automatically deployed to VM when you perform backup, and it is normal that it stops during backup (after VSS freeze has been performed).

If you applied any services monitoring then you will going to receive this service stop alert during the backup job running. However, you can safely ignore this one.
